Task 1 :
Look at the text below. Study the sentences by paying attention to the words in the bold- underlined typed and bold-italic typed expressions.
Orville : Our dad gave us a toy helicopter that flew with the help of rubber bands. We’ve been interested in the idea since then.
Wilbur : Orville has always liked to build kites, so, we have experimented with making our own helicopters for a while now.
Host : But that was only a toy, what about the actual plane?
Wilbur : Orville made the first flight with our first plane at Kitty Hawk on December 14, 1903.
Host : Why did you choose Kitty Hawk?
Orville : Kitty Hawk had a hill, good breezes, and was sandy. The condition would help soften the landings in case of a crash. The first flight lasted 12 seconds and they flew for 120 feet.
Wilbur : We have worked and experimented with gliders to perfect the wing design and controls since then.

SIMPLE PAST TENSE
1.Definisi Dan Rumus
Simple past tense merupakan bentuk tenses yang digunakan untuk menjelaskan suatu peristiwa yang terjadi di waktu lampau dan tidak ada kaitan nya dengan waktu sekarang. Simple past tense tidak menunjukan apakah kegiatan tersebut telah selesai dilakukan ataupun belum.
Rumus untuk simple past tense yaitu
+) S + V2 + Complement
-) S + did + Not + V1 + Complement
?) Did + S + V1 + Complement
2.Waktu Kejadian
Waktu yang digunakan pada simple past tense lebih spesifik, seperti yesterday, last month, last week, last day dan lain sebagainya.
3.Akibat Yang Ditimbulkan
Pada simple past tense akibat yang ditimbulkan sudah tidak bisa dirasakan lagi.
4.Modus Aktifitas
Simple past tense hanya bisa digunakan untuk kejadian yang benar benar lampau dan tidak ada kaitanya dengan waktu sekarang, namun lebih spesifik.
5.Contoh Simple Past Tense
she ate alone yesterday (dia makan sendirian kemarin)
I walked to your house alone (aku berjalan kerumah mu sendiri)
Did you come to her house? (apakah kamu datang kerumah nya?)
I did not do my homework (aku tidak mengerjakan PR ku)
Lia did not call me last week (Lia tidak menelepon ku minggu lalu)
she wrote a letter to her mom (dia menulis sebuah surat untuk ibunya)
she read a book yesterday (dia membaca buku kemarin)
PRESENT PERFECT TENSE
1.Definisi Dan Rumus
Present perfect tense digunakan untuk menyatakan suatu kegiatan yang telah terjadi di waktu lampau, namun masih ada kaitan nya dengan waktu sekarang, entah karena belum selesai dikerjaka atau masih dikerjakan.
Rumus untuk present perfect tense yaitu :
+) S + Have/Has + V3 +Complement
-) S + Have/Has + Not + V3 + Complement
?) Have/Has + S + V3 + Complement
2.Waktu Kejadian
Menggunakan waktu pada masa yag sudah lewat namun masih dalam periode waktu yang sama karena masih ada kaitan nya dengan waktu sekarang.
3.Akibat Yang Ditimbulkan
Pada present perfect tense akibat yang ditimbulkan mash dapat dirasakan hingga sekarang karena masih ada kaitan nya dengan waktu sekarang.
4.Modus Aktifitas
Present perfect tense digunakan untuk menunjukan suatu kegiatan yang telah selesai dilakukan atau yang mash dilakukan namun ada kaitan nya dengan waktu lampau.
