A Million Dreams

Written by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul

Sung by Ziv Zaifman, Hugh Jackman, Michelle Williams

I close my eyes and I can see

The world that's waiting up for me

That I call my own

Through the dark, through the door

Through where no one's been before

But it feels like home

They can say, they can say it all sounds crazy

They can say, they can say I've lost my mind

I don't care, I don't care, so call me crazy

We can live in a world that we design

'Cause every night I lie in bed

The brightest colors fill my head

A million dreams are keeping me awake

I think of what the world could be

A vision of the one I see

A million dreams is all it's gonna take

A million dreams for the world we're gonna make

There's a house we can build Every room inside is filled With things from far away The special things I compile

Each one there to make you smile

On a rainy day

They can say, they can say it all sounds crazy

They can say, they can say we've lost our minds I don't care,

I don't care if they call us crazy Runaway to a world that we design

Every night I lie in bed

The brightest colors fill my head

A million dreams are keeping me awake

I think of what the world could be

A vision of the one I see

A million dreams is all it's gonna take

A million dreams for the world we're gonna make

However big, however small

Let me be part of it all

Share your dreams with me

We may be right, we may be wrong

But I wanna bring you along

To the world I see

To the world we close our eyes to see

We close our eyes to see

Every night I lie in bed

The brightest colors fill my head

A million dreams are keeping me awake

I think of what the world could be

A vision of the one I see

A million dreams is all it's gonna take

A million dreams for the world we're gonna make

GENERAL STRUCTURE OF SONGS

The general structure of a song consists of

The introduction establishes melodic, harmonic, and/or rhythmic related to the main body of song. Intro, yaitu bagian awal lagu, biasanya belum terdengar suara penyanyi (hanya instrumennya saja

· Verse atau bait adalah bagian pengantar ke chorus

It is the section of the song structure that tells the story. This is the exposition, describing the scene or the person, or an emotion. There are usually two or three verses in a row that have the same musical structure, the same rhyme and poetic meter, but different words. The second verse builds on the picture painted in the first verse, etc.

· Chorus of Refrain, bagian inti, biasanya yang paling mudah diingat

A chorus is the most repeated section, so it’s the easiest remembered. A chorus is the summary of the song’s story. All the verses have been leading up to the chorus, and is usually the part of the song people sing along with. A chorus can come at the beginning of the song structure; it can also start in the middle, or come at the end. In fact, some songs don’t have choruses at all. Some people are usually confused to differentiate between choruses and refrain. A refrain is any line that repeats in the song lyric, while a chorus is any group of lines that repeat.

· Break

A break is actually a brief “rest” or “pause” for the core melody within a song used to add further dimension and excitement. It may include a quick instrumental solo or drum interlude or it may be a brief moment of silence, or acombination of each of these elements.

· Bridge penghubung chorus ke chorus selanjutnya ataupun ke coda

This is the part of the song that shifts. It can suddenly change tempo, or volume, or instrumentation. The bridge is the section that gives the audience time to reflect on the story, or gives them the “climax” or conclusion of the story through verses and chorus. Bridges can be used to give the singer a break.

· Outro or Coda penutup lagu

This is the end of the road for the song. It can repeat the intro, chorus or a refrain as an outro, or a bridge with an instrumental solo.

Struktur tersebut tidak bersifat kaku, jadi tidak semua lagu memiliki struktur yang tersusun seperti itu. Tapi setiap lagu secara umum pasti memiliki verse, chorus, dan bridge.

Let’s take another look at the parts of song.

Hero

By Mariah Carey

(Verse 1)

There's a hero if you look inside your heart, You don't have to be afraid of what you are.

And There's an answer, if you reach into your soul, And the sorrow that you know will melt away.

(Chorus)

And then a hero comes along,

With the strength to carry on. And you cast your fears aside,

And you know you can survive.

So, when you feel like hope is gone,

Just Look inside you and be strong. And you'll finally see the truth, That a hero lies in you...

(Verse 2)

It's a long road, when you face the world alone;

No one reaches out a hand for you to hold... You can find love if you search within yourself

And then the emptiness you felt will disappear...

(Chorus)

And then a hero comes along

With the strength to carry on

And then you cast your fears aside

And you know you can survive.

So, when you feel like hope is gone

Look inside you and be strong

And then you'll finally see the truth

See That a hero lies in you.

(Bridge)

Lord knows dreams are hard to follow, But don't let anyone tear them away.

Just hold on, and there will be tomorrow, And In time you'll find the way.

(Chorus)

And then a hero comes along, With the strength to carry on.

And then you cast your fears aside

And you know you can survive.

So, when you feel like hope is gone, Look inside you and be strong.

And you'll finally see the truth, That a hero lies in you.

That a hero lies in you...

Outdoors

Song by: Jason Mraz

All day I’ve been inside

And I’ve got the feeling

I’m trapped between the walls

And underneath the ceiling

I feel a bit off track

And I’m trying to get back

Back in the cool, cool air where the sun is shinning

Nothing’s going to stop me

It’s all in the timing

It’s finally again my turn

It’s time to return

‘Cause I won’t stay inside no more

No more

I can’t wait to go

Outdoors

Well open up your door and be like me

Open up your door and then breathe free

And look at all the beauty you’ll feel  Loved, loved, loved, loved

Listen to the music of the wind and the brides sing

We’re just one big family

And all of nature deserves to be

Loved, loved, loved, loved,

Loved

So, I won’t stay inside no more

No more

It can’t wait, I’m sure

There’s need to run and hide

Let’s go explore

It feels so great let’s go outdoors

(Don’t cha do) Everyone come on come on out there

where the air is fresh and clear So, I won’t stay inside no more No more

It cannot wait

Let’s go out doors

Well, open up your door and be like me

Open up your door and then breathe free

And look at all the beauty and you’ll find The earth and the sky is yours

So please go, there’s no need, There’s no need to hide inside Let’s go explore
