Grammar Review Announcement atau yang biasa lebih dikenal dengan istilah 'pengumuman' adalah suatu pernyataan tertulis atau lisan di depan umum menggunakan kata-kata formal maupun tidak formal yang berisi informasi tentang peristiwa yang telah terjadi atau akan terjadi sehingga masyarakat umum tahu apa, kapan, dan di mana suatu event . Pengumuman dapat kita dengar atau baca dimana saja, misalnya pengumuman lisan disekolah atau di tempat-tempat umum, sedangkan pengumuman tertulis dapat kita baca di papan pengumuman, di majalah, dan di koran. Tujuan Announcement “The purpose is to inform the announcement text information about an event, job vacancies, new enrollment, new admissions, and so on”. Tujuan announcement text adalah untuk memberitahukan informasi tentang sebuah acara, Lowongan pekerjaan, penerimaan murid baru, penerimaan mahasiswa baru, dan sebagainya dengan memberikan informasi yang berbentuk formal kepada masyarakat umum atau masyarakat tertentu (To give a formal written notice of certain events). Generic Structure Announcement 1. Opening (Title) Dimana, disinilah letak bagian paling penting mencakup semua yang ingin diumumkan atau lebih tepatnya semua isi dari pengumuman serta salam pembuka dari pengumuman tersebut. 2. Content. Berisi tentang penjelasan-penjelasan lebih lanjut dari pengumuman. 3. Closing.
